The Next Generation of Lab Case Management

Free to practices, Henry Schein’s DDX service integrates with leading practice and lab management software products and digital devices, fostering better communication with labs

DDX is Henry Schein’s cloud-based service that is free to dental practices and offers a faster, safer, and more efficient way to exchange and manage casework with laboratories. With DDX, a practice is able to connect with many laboratories and manage all of its casework with a single DDX account.

Smarter Case Submission and Follow-Up

As a cloud-based service, DDX requires no software setup, maintenance, or backup and it can be accessed through any standard Internet browser, providing fast access to full lab case details from wherever necessary. Cases that are created in DDX are accessible indefinitely, including access to all digital files, case notes, and other information.

Case entry through the DDX SmartRx has been designed to reduce errors and incomplete prescriptions that often lead to disruptive follow-up phone calls or costly case remakes. DDX SmartRx offers dynamic data entry that displays only the fields appropriate for the current case. Fields that are critical for the current restoration, such as tooth number, shade, stump shape, etc, will actually be required for successful case submission. DDX guides practice teams to provide the necessary details for labs to fabricate a successful restoration. The practice and the lab are both able to track the status of their cases from submission, fabrication, shipping, billing, and payment. DDX provides case visibility throughout its life cycle..

Key Features

While DDX supports the management of traditional casework, it has been optimized to meet the unique needs of the digital dental era. Features include:

• HIPAA-compliant digital file transfer and storage with no limits on file size or quantity

• PCI-compliant payment processing for accurate and efficient lab payment (where offered by the lab)

• Tight integration with leading intraoral and CAD/CAM technologies, such as Planmeca Planscan® (E4D Technologies, www.e4d.com), 3Shape TRIOS® (www.3shape.com), and more.

• Tight integration with leading practice management software applications, such as Dentrix, so that all lab case data is accessible from within the management software that is central to a practice’s operation.

Get Started

Dental lab casework represents the second greatest expense for most practices and yet few have deployed technology to help manage the lab relationship. Effective lab communication practices reduce remakes, see few rescheduled case return dates, reschedule fewer patient appointments, and generally run a more efficient practice that offers superior patient care.

DDX truly represents next-generation lab case management. Visit www.ddxdental.com for more details or call 877-244-9345 for a brief web demo.
