ACP Honors Dr. Steven Rothenberg

CHICAGO, Aug. 20, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Steven Rothenberg, DMD, of Darien, Conn., will be honored with the private practice award for Northeast Region 1 by the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP). Dr. Rothenberg is to be honored at the Annual Awards & Presidents Dinner during the 45th Annual Session of the American College of Prosthodontists in Orlando from Oct. 21-24, 2015.


Dr. Rothenberg graduated from the University Of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1978 with a Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree. After completing a one year General Practice Residency, he then completed a two year Residency in General Prosthodontics at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He continued on with a Fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthetics at Memorial Sloan-Kettering. He has been practicing in private practice in Darien, Conn. from April of 1983 until the present time. Dr. Rothenberg has volunteered at Norwalk hospital for the past 30 years and is the head of Prosthetics. In 2009, Dr. Rothenberg became the Vice-President of the Connecticut Section of the ACP under Keith Ferro, DMD, FACP, and became President of the section from 2011 until 2015.

For several years, he has volunteered with the American Cancer Society and was director of the Southern Connecticut Citizens Committee. He was a director of "The Great American Smoke Out" in Connecticut and has lectured throughout the state on the benefits of not smoking and not using chewing tobacco. Dr. Rothenberg has participated in various study clubs in Fairfield County and has taught Implant Dentistry and Prosthodontics to many participants. He has been a big advocate of Dentistry as a profession and has welcomed many prospective dental students and dental students into his office to observe private practice.

Created in 2013, the Private Practice Award may be given annually to up to five individual Prosthodontists (one per ACP Region). These individuals must have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of the prosthodontic specialty and the role that the Prosthodontist in private practice plays in advancing the patient's quality of life.
