ADA Reports on “State of Fluoridation”

According to the latest statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, fluoridated water now reaches more than 204 million US residents—nearly 74 percent of the population on public water systems, says a new report from the American Dental Association (ADA). While dental professionals consider community water fluoridation safe, effective, and cost effective for preventing dental decay, the latest information compiled by the ADA indicates that 43 states have experienced activity to initiate, retain, or defeat fluoridation programs in the past year-and-a-half.
