TEREC, N.A. Checks Out New Print Possibilities

Posted on Monday, June 5, 2017

On Thursday, May 18, 23 members of the Technical Research Consortium, North America (TEREC, N.A.) visited Carbon, based in Redwood City, Calif. Carbon was excited to show TEREC members the latest 3D printer that offers dental laboratories the opportunity to manufacture high-performance, durable polymer products at unmatched speeds and quality. Even beyond the high-end and intuitive technology that serves as the printer’s backbone, Carbon’s subscription business model offers customers inclusive and proactive service and support. TEREC, N.A. was pleased to be involved at the forefront of Carbon’s advances within this emerging market.

TEREC, N.A. is a consortium of independently owned and regionally-located dental laboratories that work together to bring dentists the collective mindshare of 15 labs with the personal relationship of one. To live up to our mission of promoting the dental laboratory industry and ensuring the success of our TEREC members, dentists, and their patients, our members subscribe to teamwork, industry networking and technological analysis in order to best serve clinicians. Carbon, the Silicon Valley-based additive manufacturing company, was founded in 2013. Working at the intersection of hardware, software and molecular science, Carbon is delivering on the promise of additive manufacturing, allowing commercial partners to go beyond basic prototyping to start producing at scale. Carbon’s Continuous Liquid Interface Production technology (CLIP) was introduced simultaneously at TED 2015 and to the scientific community on the cover of Science Magazine (Science, March 2015).
