Renewed Commitment

The beginning of a new year is often a good time to review your values and goals, reflecting on how you are fulfilling them and planning for how to do even better in the year ahead. For the Inside Dental Hygiene team, this means reviewing our mission statement: We are the complete information resource for the dental hygiene profession, supporting dental hygienists' commitment to optimal care, continuing education, regulatory compliance, positive career choices, and a healthy lifestyle.

Of course, we cannot fulfill the mission alone. We humbly rely on the esteemed members of our Editorial Advisory Board to help us provide the best information possible, and this issue's cover story is an excellent example of that, as our board members share their favorite solutions for the persistent problem of dentinal hypersensitivity. Included are two new board members—Kari Carter-Cherelus, RDH, DA; and Amanda Hill, BSDH, RDH—whose insights we have shared within these pages in the past, and with whom we look forward to working even more closely in the future. Welcome to them!

We are also excited to share a special, collaborative continuing education article that involved our colleagues at Inside Dentistry and Inside Dental Technology. Inside Dental Hygiene provided 29 hours of continuing education credits in 2023 through articles, webinars, and ebooks available at idh.cdeworld.com, and we look forward to maintaining that commitment in 2024!
