Alexandria, Va., USA – Today, the International and American Associations for Dental Research (IADR/AADR) announced the launch of a groundbreaking new medical research journal, the JDR Clinical & Translational Research. The peer-reviewed journal is dedicated to publishing original dental, oral and craniofacial research at the interface between discovery science and clinical application with the translation of research into healthcare delivery systems at the individual patient, clinical practice, and community levels.
The IADR is a non-profit organization with more than 11,000 members worldwide; the IADR works to advance research and increase knowledge for the improvement of oral health worldwide, supports and represents the oral health research community, and facilitates the communication and application of research findings. The AADR is the largest Division of IADR with over 3,500 members in the United States. IADR/AADR’s JDR Clinical & Translational Research will provide a much needed resource for clinicians, scientists, academics, researchers and policy makers across the entire translational science spectrum of the dental community.
Since 2012, the IADR/AADR’s flagship publication, the Journal of Dental Research, has published clinical supplements to address the influx of research and scholarship that expand the understanding of the challenges of the dental, oral, and craniofacial sciences. “Building on the success of these supplements, JDR Clinical & Translational Research will provide an expanded outlet for even further examination of breakthrough clinical and translational research,” stated Dr. William Giannobile, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Dental Research.

The JDR Clinical & Translational Research is slated to be published quarterly in 2016. The new journal is an example of IADR/AADR’s efforts to continually expand opportunities for members to showcase critical emerging research in oral health.
