3D Systems Earns Gold Edison Award

ROCK HILL, S.C. -- 3D Systems announced that it has received a Gold 2015 Edison Award in the Science/Medical/Dental category for its innovative 3DS Healthcare solutions. The Edison Awards honor is one the highest accolades a company can receive in the name of innovation and business success, and recognizes excellence in new product and service development, marketing and human-centered design and innovation.

3DS was recognized for its end-to-end digital healthcare solutions, including 3D surgical simulation and training, virtual surgical planning, dental 3D printers, and delivery of 3D printed procedures,implants and patient-specific devices. From the training room to the operating room, 3DS allows medical professionals to utilize a complete digital thread--a seamless ecosystem connecting specific patient imaging data to virtual simulation, virtual planning and surgical guides, and personalized 3D printed models.

Named after famed American inventor Thomas Edison, the Edison Awards recognize companies and products that best contribute to the cause and purpose of innovation in the world. Nominees are judged by a panel of more than 3,000 leading business executives including past award winners, academics and leaders in the fields of product development, design, engineering, science and medical.
