Research: Genetically Engineered Protein Reduces Radiation-Induced Oral Mucositis

Researchers at the University of Colorado Cancer Center in Denver genetically engineered a protein called Smad7 in the surface layers of tissue in the oral cavity that reduces the incidence of radiation-induced oral mucositis.
