Procter & Gamble Joins Forces With Nigerian Dental Association

Posted on Wednesday, October 9, 2013

Procter & Gamble has joined forces with the Nigerian Dental Association to promote oral health in Nigeria. The company will be supporting a 3-day conference held in Lagos through its famous brand, Oral B. The theme of the conference is “Non-communicable diseases, the dentist and dentinal hypersensitivity.”

Oral B was launched in Nigeria in 2011; the brand is responsible for many of the most popular oral hygiene products, from electric toothbrushes to toothpaste and dental floss. Recently, Oral B has launched a new toothpaste, Pro-Health All-Round Protection, which is the first toothpaste to combine stannous fluoride and polychelation technology, which strengthens and protects the teeth.

Speaking at the conference, brand manager for P&G Nigeria, Cletus Onyebuoha, said that Procter and Gamble will continue to promote oral health in partnership with the Nigerian Dental Association; the oral health initiatives fulfil P&G’s commitment to ‘touching and improving lives’.

President of the Nigerian Dental Association, Dr Femi Orebanjo, said that it was great to have the support of Oral B and Procter and Gamble and added that the new stannous fluoride toothpaste was a product that the NDA “believed in.”

P&G has provided educational tools for dentists and patients, free oral hygiene products and access to better care for people in Nigeria and the firm will continue to work to improve standards of oral health in Nigeria.
