People with Disabilities Struggle with Maintaining Dental Care

With festering cavities and missing teeth, people with disabilitites are often desperate for dental care, according to an article on The article, by John Morgan, DDS, associate professor in the Department of Public Health and Community Service at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, points out how while going to the dentist can be a minor inconvenience for most people, for patients with an intellectual or physical disability, it can be a major ordeal. Dr. Morgan cites a recent study he conducted with colleagues at Tufts that documented the urgent need for dental care among people with developmental disabilities.
