The Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) will participate in the Harvard Medical School’s Primary Care Center Symposium on October 10, 2012. Dr. Paul Grundy, Global Director of IBM Healthcare Transformation will be the keynote speaker.
HSDM believes that oral health is part of primary care and that interprofessional education and practice are important. It is imperative that prospective healthcare shift its focus from disease management to disease prevention and health management in order to improve the quality of care. HSDM has initiated a number of innovative programs in the interest of communicating this mindset, such as the General Practice Residency at Cambridge Hospital, and the School’s faculty and students plan to highlight these programs at the conference.
