In an effort to continually refine its Annual Conference, The Friends of NIDCR has added a new feature - an Industry Roundtable, to debut at the Friends of NIDCR 2012 Annual Conference in Washington DC on December 6th.

J. Leslie Winston, DDS, PhD, Director, Global Oral Care Professional & Scientific Relations, Procter and Gamble Company and the Roundtable Chair, said “The goal is to drive awareness amongst the oral health community of the role that industry plays in the success of Public/Private Partnerships (PPPs), by sharing our participants’ viewpoints and focus on challenges and opportunities in translational research.” Topics will include:

-       Leveraging the SBIR/STTR process to foster PPPs

-       Leveraging PPPs to enable the global/national research enterprise

The roundtable is sponsored by the Dental Trade Alliance.

Christian Stohler, Dean of the University of Maryland Dental School and FNIDCR President said “The conference brings together a prestigious group of national and international leaders in the oral health & research arena - all on one day – including dentists, researchers, non profit senior staff, patient advocacy groups, industry executives and Congressional representatives.”
