Beam Brush Signs on Delta Dental as Early Customer

Posted on Wednesday, October 9, 2013

Louisville, KY July 27, 2012 – The Beam Brush, the first app-connected toothbrush developed by digital health start-up Beam Technologies, has partnered with dental insurance leader Delta Dental on a large trial run of Beam Brushes.  As part of the deal, Delta will be helping to debut units of the product among its employees and also some strategic customers.

“We are excited about engaging a great organization like Delta Dental with our Beam Brush technology,” said Alex Frommeyer, CEO of Beam Tech. “They have ‘put their money where their mouth is’ by agreeing to be a significant force among our early adopters.  They can have a tremendous impact on how we approach and interact with our users due to their ability to reach nationally within their field of expertise.”

“Delta Dental is thrilled to partner with Beam Technology to begin the process of capturing one of the last remaining pieces to the dental health puzzle,” said Delta Dental of Kentucky President and CEO Cliff Maesaka, who served as a catalyst in the deal.  “Oral hygiene habits are a critical part of an overall approach to oral healthcare that affect outcomes of treatment.  The Beam brush and it’s smartphone app allow the user to monitor and utilize their home oral care habits to their best advantage and provide the user data they would not capture in any other way.”

Frommeyer also stated that the company is actively pre-selling Beam Brush units to help them define initial sales volumes.  Special pricing will be offered to supporters who will serve as some of the first customers for the company’s innovative product.  He expects to begin shipping the recently FDA-approved product from their website (www.beamtoothbrush.com) in the Fall.
