ADAA Foundation Contest Is Underway for State Associations

Posted on Wednesday, October 9, 2013

The ADAA Foundation is holding a contest between the state dental associations for contributions to the foundation. This contest is running from January 22, 2013 to September 15, 2013 and the state that contributes the most money to the foundation from the state and local organizations during that time will win their delegate registrations paid to the ADAA Annual Session in New Orleans.

The winning state will be featured in the ADAA journal and other publications as well.

The ADAA Foundation was founded in 1992 with this mission statement: "The Foundation is committed to enhancing the profession of dental assisting, promoting education and research relevant to the industry, and complementing the efforts of the American Dental Assistants Association." The Foundation receives donations from corporations, ADAA members, state and local components to fund the programs that will help improve America’s oral health–specifically continuing education for those in the dental assisting profession. The ADAA Home Study and Online courses are developed and updated through funding from the foundation along with scholarships and our Dental Assistant Educational Track at the ADA/ADAA Annual Session.

To participate in this contest, the state association should designate one member to collect the contributions from the state and local groups so it can be identified as a contribution from the state for the contest. State and Locals can hold fundraisers, auctions, "pass the hat" raffles or any other ideas to raise money to contribute. One suggestion was to add a line for a contribution on the registration form for CE meetings. The designated member can submit the contributions to Central Office, attn: Larry Sepin, at any time before the deadline but must mark the contributions for the state so they are credited to that state.

If you have any questions, please contact Cathy Roberts at cjrcda@aol.com.

The ADAAF is a 501(c)(3) organization. All contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law and will benefit the ADAA and our members though education. Please join your fellow members, States, and Locals in making a contribution to the ADAA Foundation. The ADAA Foundation is all about you, the dental assistant.
