9th KunstZahnWerk® Competition

More than 80 participants rose to this year’s challenge of creating modern solutions for prosthetic implants.

Candulor announced the winner of its 9th annual KunstZahnWerk Competition at this year’s International Dental Show in Cologne, Germany. More than 80 participants from Europe and the US rose to this year’s challenge, "Removable or Fixed: Modern Solutions for Prosthetic Implants." They were tasked with creating full upper- and lower-jaw dentures for a 65-year old female patient who had recently received four Camlog lower-jaw implants.

"The goal of the Candulor KunstZahnWerk Competition is to illustrate the importance of full dentures as a future market and to encourage dental technicians to achieve the exceptional in this field," explains Max Sturm, general manager of Candulor AG. An international panel of experts reviewed and assessed the entries, evaluating functionality, esthetics, overall workmanship, and documentation supplied. Out of 39 nominees, first prize went to Christian Geretschläger from Breitenberg, Germany. Markus Keppler and Matthias Weber from Northeim, Germany, came in at a close second, while Philipp Köhler from Nabburg, Germany took third.
