GUIDOR® easy-graft® CLASSIC

Making bone grafting easier and more predictable

Sunstar’s GUIDOR® easy-graft® CLASSIC is a synthetic bone grafting system that includes a syringe of coated granules and a liquid activator. It reduces the guesswork for dentists because, unlike allografts and xenografts, GUIDOR easy-graft CLASSIC comes with all of the components that are needed to mix the product in a unit dose application.

GUIDOR easy-graft CLASSIC simplifies placement: Once mixed, it forms a putty-like substance that can be placed directly in the socket. Once inside the defect, the material can be molded by the dentist, and it will harden in approximately 1 minute. This porous scaffold forms a stable platform for a membrane, although in many cases no membrane is required. Clinicians are free to use their preferred suture technique to close.

The enhanced efficacy of the system is largely due to its osteoconductivity and resorption ability. Resorption occurs parallel to new bone formation, and complete resorption can occur in 5 to 15 months depending on biological and medical factors.

Prior to launching the product, Sunstar tasked an independent market research firm with conducting a blind evaluation wherein 80 US dentists tried the GUIDOR easy-graft CLASSIC alloplastic bone grafting system for the first time. From 2014 to 2015, the participants completed a total of 300-plus cases with an average of 5 cases per clinician and provided feedback after 3 months and 6 months. There was an overall positive view of their use of the product, as 90% of the participants agreed that GUIDOR easy-graft simplified their bone grafting procedures. In addition, between 75% and 90% of the participants indicated satisfaction with various aspects of the clinical outcomes, including bone maturation, healing of soft tissue, stability of the prosthesis/final restoration, and the final esthetics of the case. In the same study, the independent market research firm asked about complications experienced when using GUIDOR easy-graft, and 95% of the respondents did not report any patient complaints, while 97% of the respondents did not report any signs of infection or inflammatory reactions.

The GUIDOR easy-graft is perfect for dentists who are looking for an easy-to-place bone grafting material, focusing on atraumatic tooth extractions and minimally invasive procedures, and desiring a synthetic alternative for patients who do not want human or animal-based materials. The product is not recommended for clinicians who prefer to place implants sooner than 4 months after the grafting procedure or for those who mix growth factors with bone grafting materials.

Placing bone graft material does not need to be complex. GUIDOR easy-graft is designed to simplify the process while providing more predictable clinical results.
