Philips Sonicare FlexCare Platinum Connected Toothbrush

Figure 1 | Within only a few short decades, we have come to depend on unprecedented and continuous access to a connected world. Sharing resources is faster, easier, and more comprehensive, and perhaps even more important is the sharing of data. According to a summary of the Sharing Clinical Research Data workshop, “A cultural shift has already begun as leaders in industry, academia, and regulatory agencies recognize the value in increased transparency and data sharing and are focusing on how—instead of why—data should be shared.”1 Data sharing can enhance education, accuracy, and understanding. It is these and a multitude of other oral health-oriented reasons that new innovation from Philips, designed to assist the user in improving their oral hygiene habits, has arrived. The Philips Sonicare FlexCare Platinum Connected toothbrush was designed to help you monitor your patients’ brushing habits and coach them to maintain better oral care routines.

According to a survey by Philips, 87% of patients surveyed claim to be better brushers after one week of use, and 98% of dental professionals surveyed felt more confident in patient compliance with the Philips Sonicare FlexCare Platinum Connected.

This new toothbrush features a revolutionary 3D Mouth Map, which provides 100% visibility of brushing patterns in real time. The free Bluetooth enabled app offers unique brushing analysis and stores data for immediate and historical (up to 6 months) review. There is no requirement to brush in the immediate vicinity of your phone and app in order to use these features.

The Philips Sonicare FlexCare Platinum Connected uses Smart Sensor technology to track daily brushing habits with 3 sensors: location, motion, and pressure. These sensors provide immediate and personalized post-brushing feedback to coach and refine brushing habits that can be shared with a dental professional.

In addition, the personalized TouchUp feature encourages patients to go over spots they’ve missed for a more complete clean. Identify those areas in your patients’ mouth that need a little more attention in the app and this brush will make sure they don’t forget about them.

This toothbrush enhances dental education, brushing accuracy, and oral health understanding for a new patient experience that they can share with you as their trusted dental professional.
