Board Member’s Choice: Fusion of a Maxillary Central and Lateral Incisor With a Congenitally Missing Lateral: A 10-Year Conservative, Esthetic Approach

Recommended by Compendium Editorial Board Member, Robert L. Boyd, DDS

When approaching a challenging case, it is sometimes necessary to bring in other specialists and utilize an interdisciplinary team approach. This is an excellent article, as it provides a clinically successful solution for a difficult and unusual occurrence of fusion of upper anterior teeth, which occurs with only a 0.1 % incidence. In addition, with its in-depth literature review, the paper is quite informative for understanding how the development of this problem occurs. This extensive   review is necessary to understand this long and complicated treatment. I am adding this article to the reading list for my orthodontic residents.
