Dear Clinical Partners,
It is with great pleasure to bring you this special issue of the Compendium, Collaborative Management of Esthetic Dilemmas.
The American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) has brought periodontists and restorative dentists together to explore how working together can help achieve the best outcomes for patients. We share the same goal. Our motto at Nobel Biocare, “Designing for Life,” is the expression of the principle upon which we have established our business—in essence, extraordinary quality of our products designed to last a lifetime and our mission to improve patients’ lives in collaboration with our clinical partners, helping our customers treat more patients better. We are proud and grateful of our continued partnership with the AAP as our core values are aligned.
The team approach between periodontists and restorative dentists reflected in this conference is a philosophy that Nobel Biocare subscribes to and should only include responsible manufacturers who develop products and techniques based on research and who actively support the continuing education of the profession. Companies with little relevant clinical evidence and who do not support professional organizations’ continuing education are not acting in the best interest of the patient. The industry, the profession, and patients deserve nothing less.
We celebrate the success of this conference and invite you to explore this special issue as part of our commitment to you and your patients. When we increase our knowledge base through continuing education, all benefit. We wish to thank the AAP for this opportunity to bring these important proceedings to more than 100,000 dentists across the United States. We remain committed to the profession and its focus on improving patients’ lives through health, function, and esthetics.
With my best regards,
Thomas M. Olsen
