Reno, NV (PRWEB) September 20, 2012 --, Elite Dental Institute will unveil its first ever Collaborative Sleep Symposium on October 12th and 13th, 2012, in Reno, Nevada. This historic event will bring physicians from more than five different medical specialties together to discuss the effects of un-restorative sleep on the human body.

“Experts in sleep disorders from Stanford and Harvard will be discussing the devastating effects of Obstructive Sleep Apnea in an integrative symposium, in an effort to bridge physicians and dentists to combat this deadly disease." says Allman.

“This two-day multidisciplinary symposium will highlight communication and treatment options that will become the standard of care for patients suffering with sleep apnea.” Allman further states, “Dental practice today, in my opinion, requires working with a contingent of physicians and medical specialists dedicated to achieving better patient compliance with positive outcomes.”

Dr. J. Brian Allman, Diplomate, American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and Founder and Director of the Elite Dental Institute, has completed over 5,000 hours of continuing education with emphasis in TMJ disorders and Dental Sleep Medicine. “My goal is to help educate dentists to become experts in recognizing signs and symptoms of Obstructive Sleep Apnea and effectively co-managing the disease. Our medical colleagues have asked us to become part of a multidisciplinary and collaborative healthcare team and it’s time for the dental profession to step up.” says Allman.
