Guidelines from ADA Panel Call for Caution Regarding Cone Beam CT

New guidelines on cone beam computed tomography (CT) scanning by the Scientific Affairs Council of the American Dental Association (ADA) imply that dentists could be responsible for analyzing the complete image from their scan, not just reviewing the maxillofacial area, according to Medscape Medical News.
The guidelines, published in the August issue of the Journal of the American Dental Association, urge dental professionals to use the new technology only when necessary, and only if properly trained to interpret the findings.
