Study Links Blood Pressure Meds to Lip Cancer

August 7, 2012—A study conducted by researchers from Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program and Stanford University School of Medicine, which was reported online in DrBicuspid.com, found that patients using photosensitizing antihypertensive drugs are two to four times more likely to develop lip cancer.

The findings reported August 6, 2012 in Archives of Internal Medicine were based on an evaluation of prescriptions dispensed for 23,616 non-Hispanic white adults with hypertension from August 1, 1994, to February 29, 2008.
