AACDCF Reveals Strategies For Success in New Fundraising How-To Guide

MADISON, WI (PRWEB) August 01, 2012

Supporting a great cause just got easier. Dental professionals or dental students looking to organize a successful charitable event to support survivors of domestic violence can tap the resources of a newly released fundraising how-to guide by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry’s Charitable Foundation (AACDCF).

“A Guide to Give Back a Smile Grassroots Fundraising” reveals the strategies for success that support the AACDCF’s premier program, Give Back a Smile (GBAS). GBAS helps adult women and men who have suffered damage to, or lost, their smiles at the hands of a former intimate partner or spouse. So far, more than 1,200 survivors have had dental work completed for a total of more than $12 million in donated dental services, and there are currently around 300 smile restorations in progress throughout the U.S. and Canada.

The guide provides fundraising event ideas, tips and strategies for fundraising success, and a 5k run/walk planning checklist for those looking to support GBAS. It also provides step-by-step public relations information for participants looking to get their event noticed by local media.

AACDCF has released the guide in two versions: one for dental professionals, such as dentists, hygienists, and team members; the other is for emerging dental professionals, dental students, or anyone else looking to get involved in supporting GBAS.

“Aligning with AACDCF can help you build a strong and positive reputation in your community,” said Lisa Fitch, AACDCF director. “The guide is a great resource for dental professionals looking to build relationships with their patients and prospective patients through fundraising activities, and it’s also a great resource for college students looking for ways to get involved with their communities or with others on their college campuses, while supporting survivors of domestic violence.”
