New Study Reviews Domestic Medical Tourism in US

Posted on Wednesday, October 9, 2013

LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE) -- There is a new trend that insurers, employers, hospitals and specialists are happy with – domestic US medical travel where people go to another state for treatment. This trend, however, goes under the radar, with some parts of the medical tourism industry even downgrading it as it makes their services more difficult to sell, according to a new report.

New research report “The Potential of Domestic US Medical Travel” worked out byIan Youngmancovers all the aspects of the history, current activity and future potential of the domestic US medical tourism sector. The study particularly looks at how organized domestic medical travel has risen from other attempts at insurer and employer paid outbound medical tourism; cross-border schemes; as well as why hospitals may find domestic medical travel more attractive than inbound medical travel.
