One of the latest additions covers results of a study indicating that the rs150311303 polymorphism in FcγRIIa enhances IgG binding capacity. The authors investigated the effect of FCGR2A gene polymorphisms on susceptibility to symptomatic malaria among Ghanaian cohort children. Two major FCGR2A polymorphisms, rs1801274A/G (FcγRIIa-H131R) and rs150311303 (FcγRIIa-ins170L), were identified in the study population, and assessment of their risks did not show significant association with susceptibility to symptomatic malaria. Another recently published article in this category covers computers aid in collecting sensitive information from teens. It shows that more than one million youths ages 15-24 have sexually transmitted infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhea while many more are unaware they are infected because they have not been tested.

Another recently published article presents the effect of Tolfenamic Acid on Canine Cancer Cell Proliferation, Specificity Protein (Sp) Transcription Factors, and Sp-Regulated Proteins in Canine Osteosarcoma, Mammary Carcinoma, and Melanoma Cells. The authors conclude that Tolfenamic acid is a potential anticancer NSAID and further investigation is needed to determine its usefulness in a clinical setting.
