IdentAlloy/IdentCeram Website Reaches Out to a New Audience

The IdentAlloy/IdentCeram Council has redesigned its website at IdentAlloy.org, and not just for the dentists, dental labs, and restorative material manufacturers and suppliers who have been its main users. The new website now contains a “Patients” section, where people undergoing restorative procedures can learn why documenting material content can be important to outcomes and their overall oral health.
“For a variety of reasons, people are taking more of an interest in the materials their dentists are using,” said Chuck Yenkner, Executive Director of the IdentAlloy/IdentCeram Council. “They want to know about everything from biocompatibility to material purity to how easy it will be to back up insurance claims. We saw an opportunity to fill a gap in patient education through our website.”
The new section for patients explains why dentists and dental labs take special care in selecting materials for restorative work.
Last year the Council shipped over 20 million IdentAlloy and IdentCeram certificates to manufacturers and suppliers, who pass them on to dental labs and, ultimately, the dentists who use the materials the companies provide.
Yenkner said the new site also features streamlined navigation and a more contemporary look. It’s organized to make it easier for dentists, labs and other users to navigate to information geared to their specific needs and interests.
Throughout the site, viewers will find many links to the list of manufacturers and suppliers participating in the program. Special tools now make it even more visible to search engines so professionals and the public alike will find the information it contains more quickly and easily.
The IdentAlloy/IdentCeram Council is a non-profit, voluntary industry organization that helps dentists improve outcomes, reassure patients and streamline paperwork with free certificates documenting restorative material composition and ADA classification. More information on the program, including a list of over 40 alloy and ceramic suppliers certifying their products through the Council, is available at IdentAlloy.org or by calling 888-577-2634.
