Coming Soon: Important Reader Survey on Infection Control Practices
Posted on January 28, 2014
ANNAPOLIS, MD—January 28, 2014—The Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) is partnering with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to conduct an online survey of private dental practices from January 28–February 28. The survey was developed to gather information on the use of exposure control plans for reducing the risk of exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials in private dental practices.
Survey invitees will be selected from a distribution list from AEGIS Communications (publishers of Inside Dentistry). AEGIS has teamed with OSAP to help distribute the online survey to private dental practices with a link to the short but important survey.
“We encourage the dental practices that receive the email invitation from AEGIS to complete the brief online survey,” said OSAP’s executive director, Therese Long, MBA CAE. “The information is completely anonymous—but the aggregated data will help to identify available exposure control resources and potential barriers so better strategies can be developed to improve the safety of dental healthcare workers.”
The Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention is the world’s leading membership association exclusively dedicated to preventing disease transmission and ensuring the safe and infection-free delivery of oral healthcare for all. As a nonprofit organization, OSAP helps dental practitioners close the gap between policy and practice. Its members include dental and other healthcare professionals, consultants, researchers and nongovernmental organizations, manufacturing and distribution companies, policy makers and academia.
