ColLABoration Brings Technicians and Dentists Together
Posted on January 2, 2014
From December 1 to 4, 2013, more than 53,000 dental professionals—including over 1,100 laboratory professionals—gathered at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York, New York, to attend the 2013 Greater New York Dental Meeting. This year’s meeting saw the successful launch of something new and innovative—the first annual ColLABoration event from Inside Dental Technology, a sister publication to Inside Dentistry. ColLABoration brought all members of the dental industry together in a learning environment that promoted a team approach to patient care.
With exhibitors, lectures, and workshops all sharing the space on the show floor, ColLABoration attendees were able to interact with manufacturers and see the latest technological innovations, take in spur-of-the-moment table demonstrations, and earn free continuing education credits. Continuing education was available in both lecture and hands-on formats. Some of the most popular courses were ColLABoration’s “Team Presentations,” which partnered industry leaders in the clinical and technical arenas to showcase a collaborative approach.
Edward Roman, DDS, of Washington, Pennsylvania, was one of many attendees that took part in ColLABoration. “As a general dentist and a lab owner, I have always thought that an event like ColLABoration was truly necessary to allow dentists and laboratory technicians a forum where they can exchange thoughts and ideas in a collaborative environment. This event provides the opportunity for dentists and lab technicians to bridge the gap in knowledge, understanding, and mutual appreciation of our respective professions,” he says.
