Variolink® Veneer Esthetic Resin Cement
Ivoclar Vivadent, Inc.’s Variolink Veneer is a microfilled esthetic resin cement previously marketed under the brand name Appeal®. Variolink Veneer has been developed specifically for anterior restorations to provide shade flexibility, easy clean-up, superior high-gloss polishability, and low wear. Available in 7 light-cured, amine-free “value” shades, the cement features a light-cure Initiator System that ensures long-term color stability, polymerization on demand, and immediate high bond strengths for predictable long-term clinical success. The logical “value” shading sequence simplifies cement selection because shades are based on the true influences of the cement (ie, the “value” or relative brightness) on the esthetics of final restoration, rather than on the “color” of the cement. The Variolink Veneer system also includes try-in pastes that are perfectly matched to the cement for accurate previews of the final result. For more information, call 1-800-533-6825 in the U.S., 1-800-263-8182 in Canada, or send an e-mail to mail@ivoclarvivadent.us.com.

SmilePix Cosmetic Imaging Service

SmilePix is a cosmetic imaging service for dentists that is an alternative to investing time and money in an in-house imaging system. Thanks to a marriage of several new technologies including digital cameras, photo editing software, and the Internet, dentists can now offer patients an actual photo of themselves that shows how their own smile could improve with various cosmetic enhancements. The dentist begins the process by taking a photo of the patient’s smile using a digital camera. The dentist then sends the photo to SmilePix along with instructions regarding the specific changes to make to the teeth. SmilePix artists digitally enhance the photo to reflect the doctor’s instructions. SmilePix can receive orders and transmit completed photo simulations entirely via the Internet or e-mail. There is no special software for the dentist to purchase and no lost “chair time” learning to use it. The doctor (or staff) can present photos to the patient in various ways, such as PowerPoint presentations, e-mail, or hardcopy print. For more information, call SmilePix at 1-866-532-1843 or visit www.smilepix.com.
