Peri-Implantitis: Unique Experience for the Dental Team

Hollywood, FL • Friday, May 1, 2015, 8 a.m. - Saturday, May 2, 2015, 5 p.m.
Peri-Implantitis: Unique Experience for the Dental Team Event Image The course is conducted at Miami Anatomical Research Center (M.A.R.C.), where participants will gain practical experience in placing implants in fresh-frozen cadavers. The use of fresh-frozen cadavers brings a sense of realism that no other course provides. They provide perfect anatomy, normal tissue consistency and a realistic operative training experience. Utilizing fresh-frozen cadavers are far superior to traditional high fidelity simulation teaching strategies. The entire dental team is encouraged to participate in this practical experience as dental implant therapy becomes a more common treatment and presents new challenges, both from a preventive care and legal aspect. In order to fully understand dental implant therapy, it is important to understand and have practical experience in the placement of implants and surgical procedures.

This course is not intended for the participants to demonstrate competency, but gain practical experience, whether actively participating or viewing the procedure, to provide a continuum of knowledge to be fully aware of the importance of each stage of dental implant therapy.

Michael Radu, DDS
Michael has a passion for dentistry and for teaching it to others. He believes dentistry is more of a science that can be taught, rather than an art one has to have a knack for. Michael Radu runs a successful restorative and aesthetic-oriented practice in Boca Raton, Florida, which he founded in 1992. His diverse dental practicing and teaching experience spans more than 30 years. Prior to founding his office in Boca, Dr. Radu also practiced dentistry for 4 years in Bucharest, Romania and 6 years in Dusseldorf, Germany. As a nationally and internationally sought after expert in his field, Dr. Radu shares his knowledge and passion for dentistry regularly with colleagues. The emphasis of his presentations and lectures focus on practical applications of scientific principles in his areas of specialty, which include: aesthetics, implants, occlusion and the temporomandibular joint. A special emphasis is the restorations maintenance for longevity. He has authored several published articles and one patent. His experience restoring implants began in 1987; he restored thousands of implants from various companies, with fixed, removable and combined cases.
