From the Co-Editor

Louis F. Rose, DDS, MD

Dear Readers,

This month, you will notice a number of significant changes in Compendium: new design, new columns, and new voices. These changes mark the next stage in the evolution of this journal, at a time when Compendium is celebrating not one, but two major milestones.

This year is the 30th anniversary of Compendium. It’s safe to say that this generation of medical discovery, the advancement of scientific knowledge and the ability to apply it, is unparalleled in human history—and the contributions of Compendium readers and authors are part of this era. We have become a worldwide community, centered around commitment to our patients and our profession.

Also this month, we are marking the one-year anniversary of Compendium’s new management under AEGIS Communications, and the beginning of my tenure as editor-in-chief. One year ago, we pledged to refocus the clinical content to reflect the original mission of the journal: “to provide uncompromised, peer-reviewed continuing education that expands our clinical horizons.” It has been an eventful and exhilarating year as we worked together to fulfill that promise. This month, we welcome John Kois as co-editor-in-chief to expand the scope of the journal.

It is a privilege to work on this indispensable journal, unique in its vision and its contribution to oral healthcare. It is our hope that you will continue to find Compendium a stimulating educational experience, and that you will share your comments and submissions for publication. I can be reached at lrose@aegiscomm.com.

Sincerely,

Louis F. Rose, DDS, MD
