In 1908, Greene Vardiman Black, the leading reformer and educator of American dentistry, published his monumental two-volume treatise Operative Dentistry, which remained the essential clinical dental text for 50years.  Black later developed techniques for filling teeth, standardized operative procedures and instrumentation, developed an improved amalgam, and pioneered the use of visual aids for teaching dentistry.

ACCESS tip for LED light
Access Tip_small.jpg

Parkell, Inc (Edgewood, NY) recently introduced the Access tip as an option for its Aurora cordless curing light. The new 3-inch tip rotates 360º to cure virtually any surface in even the smallest mouth. Without the tip, the Aurora light features a large, bright, 11-mm diameter curing-spot for one-shot polymerization of anterior restorations and sealants, but its large curing head may limit its usefulness in the posterior of small mouths. With the new Access tip, the light easily reaches these difficult areas. The Access tip is compatible only with the Aurora light and costs $129. However, when ordered with the light ($399), the purchaser saves $20 ($99).
